Validation Technician – Semiconductor Product Validation

About the role

UST is looking for a proactive Validation Technician to join a semiconductor client in Heredia. You will work on testing and validating PC platforms and subsystems, collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure hardware and software quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform testing and validation of PC platforms, motherboards, CPUs, RAM, GPUs, and BIOS/UEFI.
• Identify, reproduce, and triage system or OS issues.
• Log, track, and follow up on bugs using standard bug‑tracking tools.
• Support validation of platform features across hardware, drivers, firmware, and operating systems.
• Work with engineering teams to debug issues and verify fixes.

Required profile

• 1+ years of experience in electronics, computer engineering, computer science or a related field.
• Knowledge of PC platform architecture and motherboard components.
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as PCIe, USB, USB‑C, SATA.
• Understanding of drivers, firmware and ACPI power states (S‑states, C‑states, D‑states).
• Experience troubleshooting Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Ability to lift 25–40 lb of equipment when required.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Willingness to work staggered shifts or weekends as needed.
