Director of Procurement – Product Services & MRO

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a senior leader to drive global category strategies for Product Services and MRO spend. The Director will shape sourcing, supplier management and continuous‑improvement initiatives across maintenance, repair, operations, laboratory testing, calibration and engineering services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own multi‑year global sourcing strategies aligned with financial targets, risk, sustainability and business continuity.
• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing processes including supplier qualification, RFPs, contract negotiation, implementation and ongoing supply‑base management.
• Partner with division business leaders, quality, operations and R&D to ensure category strategies support cross‑functional objectives.
• Drive supplier consolidation, diversity and risk mitigation using market intelligence and predictive analytics.
• Mentor and develop a global category team, fostering talent and improving employee engagement scores.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of procurement/sourcing experience with global responsibility, including at least 7 years in Product Services or MRO categories.
• 5+ years of experience leading procurement teams, with strong coaching and performance‑management skills.
• Proven ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders and lead complex projects in a matrixed organization.
• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree in Business, Finance or a technical field preferred.
