Buyer – Tactical Purchasing

About the role

Join Stryker's Supply Chain team and play a key role in ensuring materials are available to support production and customer demand. The Buyer will manage tactical purchasing activities across an assigned supplier portfolio in a high‑volume manufacturing environment, balancing demand, inventory, supplier capacity and operational priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tactical purchasing for an assigned supplier portfolio to maintain material availability and support customer service objectives.
• Collaborate with suppliers to understand planning processes, capacity constraints and supply capabilities.
• Develop and execute supply plans that align with production schedules, inventory targets and launch plans.
• Monitor and communicate KPIs such as inventory levels, receipts, purchase price variance and supplier performance.
• Maintain accurate system data including lead times, minimum order quantities, safety stock and delivery schedules.
• Expedite or adjust purchase orders to ensure material availability while minimizing excess stock.
• Escalate supply constraints, shortages and product availability risks and drive resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Operations and Sourcing teams on continuous‑improvement initiatives and supplier performance goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Materials Management or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement or materials management within a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Minimum B2 level English proficiency.
• Experience working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
