Strategic Sourcing Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to manage procurement activities for a petrochemical plant. The role ensures timely sourcing of critical materials and services while balancing quality, reliability, cost‑effectiveness and operational urgency. The specialist will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, project management and suppliers to secure commercially sound agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiations, contracting, purchase order creation and supplier management.
• Procure critical materials and services required for plant operations, maintaining high standards for quality, reliability and delivery.
• Expedite documentation and supplier deliveries to guarantee on‑time fulfillment and uninterrupted plant operations.
• Utilize SAP and Oracle systems to create, manage and maintain purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and project management teams to communicate order status, resolve issues and support business objectives.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive collaboration, performance and long‑term value.

Required profile

• Fluent in English; all interviews will be conducted in English.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting (three days onsite) at offices in Escazu or AFZ, Costa Rica.
