Senior Procurement Specialist (Sr Buyer)

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Specialist in Procurement Management to lead source‑to‑contract activities and drive supplier excellence across its therapeutic portfolios. The role combines strategic sourcing, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement to support the company’s mission of delivering innovative medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with end‑to‑end source‑to‑contract processes aligned with business goals and category strategy.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies while advancing supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives.
• Execute supplier management activities, including negotiations, workshops, and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with Category Managers on risk mitigation plans and provide tactical input on supplier performance.
• Maintain excellence in contract execution, identifying and eliminating inefficiencies in process design.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects initiated by the Procurement Services Center (PSC) team.
• Oversee and mentor junior specialists, fostering capability development and category expertise.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related operations.
• Proven experience with source‑to‑contract, requisition‑to‑pay, and negotiation processes.
• Strong English proficiency (C1 level) and ability to work in a global environment.
• Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Power Platform.
