Senior Payroll Analyst – US & Canada

About the role

Moody's is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for employees in the United States and Canada. You will partner with a third‑party vendor and collaborate with internal teams to maintain compliance and support payroll operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process US and Canada payroll in partnership with an external provider, ensuring compliance with federal, state/provincial and local regulations.
• Audit and validate payroll inputs and outputs, reconcile reports, earnings, deductions and tax withholdings, and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance and Benefits teams on off‑cycle payments, terminations, retroactive adjustments and year‑end activities.
• Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and adhering to SOX controls.
• Maintain employee records in the payroll system, ensuring data integrity between payroll and HRIS platforms.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects, contributing to payroll process optimization and automation.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professional and timely service.

Required profile

• 3+ years of payroll operations experience with exposure to US and/or Canadian payroll regulations, tax compliance and labor laws.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail in high‑volume, deadline‑driven environments.
• Experience working with third‑party payroll vendors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ADP or similar HRIS/payroll systems.
