Operational Excellence Manager – P2P (Americas & Global RDU)

About the role

AstraZeneca is seeking a P2P Operational Excellence Manager to lead Accounts Payable (AP) service delivery for the Americas region and the Rare Diseases Unit globally. Based in San José, Costa Rica, you will oversee end‑to‑end AP processes, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement across in‑house and vendor‑delivered services.

Key responsibilities

• Own AP performance for AZ Americas and RDU globally, meeting agreed KPIs, SLAs and OLAs.
• Oversee daily AP operations including invoice processing, GR/IR management, payment runs and treasury coordination.
• Act as escalation point for operational issues and resolve day‑to‑day challenges.
• Set and manage team objectives, monitor workload distribution, and develop cross‑training and capacity plans.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure consistent, compliant service delivery.
• Establish operational activity tracking, KPI reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Middle‑management experience leading AP or finance operations teams.
• Proven ability to manage performance across in‑house and outsourced service models.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with finance business partners and CFOs.
• Experience in a global, multi‑regional finance environment.
