Software Engineer – Apps, Test Infrastructure & Automation

About the role

HPE is looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain tools and automation that accelerate ASIC/SDK and post‑silicon engineering. The role is onsite, working from an HPE office, and focuses on traffic generation, hardware reservation, CI/CD pipelines, and lab infrastructure services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement enhancements for traffic generation frameworks, hardware reservation tools, regression dashboards and lab automation services.
• Write and execute test plans, debug code, and integrate tools across switch, simulation and emulation platforms.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, PR‑check and regression workflows linked to source control and hardware reservation systems.
• Collaborate with SDK, post‑silicon, ASIC, mechanical and hardware teams to communicate tool status and resolve issues.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong English communication skills.

Required skills

• Python programming (including scripting/automation).
• Experience with C (preferred) and Rust (strong plus).
• DevOps tools: Jenkins CI/CD, Git/GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Linux‑based server environments.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (L2/L3, traffic generation) and ASIC/SDK test environments.
