Lead Operational Risk Specialist

About the role

The Lead Operational Risk Specialist will drive operational stability and transformation across EWS Operations, building a data‑driven risk management system that supports technology evolution, vendor dependencies and crisis resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and operationalise the risk framework, risk appetite statements and RCSA processes aligned with executive strategy.
• Build automated KRI dashboards and executive reporting cadences for senior tech leadership.
• Lead business impact analyses, define RTO/RPO standards and run crisis simulations.
• Evaluate security event impacts, orchestrate cross‑functional responses and lead post‑incident root‑cause analyses.
• Integrate operational risk assessments into legacy system rationalisation and migration projects.
• Audit, monitor and mitigate third‑party vendor and API dependencies.
• Partner with engineering and DevOps to design automated controls that prevent systemic failures.
• Ensure alignment with internal audit and external regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• 6+ years of progressive experience in operational risk, technology risk, IT audit or operational resilience within complex, cloud‑enabled enterprises.
• Proven ability to build or scale risk frameworks, control environments or BCDR programmes.
• Strong influence skills across cross‑functional engineering and operational teams without direct authority.
• Fluent English (B2+).

Required skills

• Deep functional understanding of cloud environments and system dependency mapping.
• Experience with technology change management processes.
• Hands‑on experience translating operational incidents into business impact assessments and remediation plans.
