Senior Specialist, Procurement Management (Sr Buyer)

About the role

The Senior Specialist, Procurement Management (Sr Buyer) will lead source‑to‑contract activities, ensure compliance with procurement policies, and support supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives. This role is pivotal in driving supplier excellence and continuous improvement within AbbVie’s procurement function.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with source‑to‑contract procurement processes aligned with business goals and category strategy.
• Maintain compliance with procurement policies while advancing supplier diversity and sustainability.
• Execute supplier management activities, including negotiations and workshops, in line with the category SRM strategy.
• Support risk mitigation plans, monitor supplier performance, and identify procurement risks.
• Oversee contract execution from source‑to‑contract through requisition‑to‑pay, identifying process inefficiencies.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects initiated by the Procurement Services Center (PSC) team.
• Guide and provide feedback to junior specialists, developing category expertise.
• Enable team goals and ensure performance targets are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• English proficiency at C1 level.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related operations.
• Hands‑on experience with source‑to‑contract, requisition‑to‑pay, and negotiation processes.
• Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a solution‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Power Platform.
