Senior Manager Accounting (Hybrid) – Costa Rica

About the role

The Senior Manager Accounting will lead a team of general ledger accountants in Costa Rica and India, overseeing end‑to‑end accounting for prepaid assets, accrued liabilities and other balance‑sheet items across 27 countries. This hybrid position partners closely with FP&A, Accounts Payable, Procurement and IT to drive automation, accuracy and timely close.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of 4‑5 accountants, setting priorities and ensuring high‑quality deliverables.
• Oversee global prepaid asset and accrued liability accounting, including month‑end postings, accruals and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Execute month‑end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries.
• Produce entity‑level variance and flux analysis for senior finance leadership.
• Design and implement automation and standardisation initiatives in Oracle and related systems.
• Support internal and external audits, preparing documentation and responding to auditor queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field; Registered Private Accountant (CPI) preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in a multi‑entity global organisation.
• Proven people‑management experience, preferably in a Shared Service Centre or Global Business Services environment.
• Strong analytical ability and comfort working under month‑end deadlines across time zones.
