Senior Analyst, Finance (Internal Audit)

About the role

Edwards Lifesciences' Global Internal Audit team conducts operational internal audit reviews and assesses the internal control environment. This Senior Analyst, Finance (Internal Audit) position is hybrid in Cartago, Costa Rica, and applies professional expertise to support finance (internal audit) activities and business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and perform business process control walkthroughs and testing for SOX compliance across the Americas region, including Costa Rica and LATAM; hands-on SOX experience is required.
• Support the Audit Lead in audit planning and independently execute operational audits, advisory engagements and special projects, and lead small-scale audits or projects as needed.
• Assess business risks and internal control effectiveness across operational, financial, compliance and IT processes, and recommend practical ways to mitigate them.
• Develop and present clear audit reports and presentations to management and senior leadership.
• Support external audit requests and help improve audit methodologies, tools, analytics and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of previous related experience.
• Experience in a medical device or related manufacturing environment.
• Advanced English level.
• Public accounting experience (e.g., Big Four CPA firms) preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of internal controls, risk assessment, GAAP and SOX requirements preferred.
• Data analytic skills, use of AI to improve audit efficiency and audit management software preferred.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural team, handle confidential information discreetly, and travel internationally.
