Junior Accountant Assistant

About the role

A finance team in Escazú, Costa Rica is looking for a responsible, organized and detail-oriented Junior Accountant. The position is full-time and 100% on-site, and the candidate must live near Escazú.

Key responsibilities

• Record accounting transactions and keep accurate financial records
• Prepare bank and account reconciliations
• Process invoices and support accounts payable and receivable activities
• Review supporting documents and spot discrepancies
• Help with month-end close and prepare financial reports
• Keep accounting files and supporting documents organized
• Support internal and external audits
• Work with the finance team to resolve accounting issues

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• At least 1 year of accounting experience
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• At least 85% English proficiency (B2+) is non-negotiable
• Must reside near Escazú and be available full-time, on-site

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience with accounting software
• Preferred: bank reconciliation and month-end close experience, ERP familiarity, strong analytical and organizational skills
