Dental/Insurance Verification Agent (Remote)

About the role

Edge is looking for a detail-oriented Dental/Insurance Verification Agent to support U.S.-based dental practices with accurate and timely billing. The position is remote and requires living in the Great Metropolitan Area (GAM) of Costa Rica, with a reliable home setup including power backup and a stable internet connection. Working hours are full time, Monday to Friday, during U.S. business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate dental insurance claims and review them for completeness.
• Follow up on unpaid, denied or rejected claims and post insurance and patient payments accurately.
• Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and identify discrepancies or outstanding balances.
• Process insurance eligibility and benefits information when needed.
• Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Communicate with insurance companies about claim status, denials and payment issues.
• Maintain accurate billing records, update patient accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Collaborate with dental office teams and keep patient information confidential.

Required profile

• Lives in the GAM (San Jose, Alajuela, Cartago or Heredia provinces) with a reliable work-from-home setup.
• 1+ year of experience in dental billing, preferably with U.S.-based practices.
• Strong understanding of U.S. dental insurance and claims processes.
• Full-time availability during U.S. business hours.

Required skills

• Claim submission, payment posting, EOBs, denials and accounts receivable.
• Familiarity with dental terminology and CDT codes.
• Good written and verbal English, strong organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and learn new software; preferred: experience with dental practice management software, claim appeals, U.S. carriers and remote work with U.S. clients.
