Customs Specialist – Global Services

About the role

Kuehne+Nagel Global Services is looking for a Customs Specialist who provides operational support for customs processing activities. The role ensures accurate and timely execution of customs transactions in line with internal procedures, regulatory requirements and service level agreements, covering import, export and transit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process customs transactions according to SOPs, work instructions and regulatory requirements.
• Review and validate customs documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and airway bills.
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment data in operational systems to support customs entry, export and transit.
• Prepare and support customs filings while complying with company procedures and regulations.
• Maintain accurate operational records and meet productivity, quality and cost-efficiency targets while minimising errors, penalties and service disruptions.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and global branches, identify operational risks and escalate issues promptly.
• Participate in training, process migrations, stabilisation activities and readiness for new customers or services, and contribute to automation projects and service quality improvements.

Required profile

• High school diploma minimum.
• Intermediate to advanced English.
• Experience in international trade, customs entry processing, customs brokerage, freight forwarding or import/export documentation is an advantage.
• Ability to review and validate shipping and customs documents, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive, effective communicator in a multicultural environment, and able to collaborate across departments and regions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of international trade, customs entry processing or declaration filing, logistics shared services or global services centres.
• Experience with operational or logistics platforms is an advantage.

Working conditions

• Schedule Monday to Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., under a hybrid model.
• The position is subject to a rotating day, night or mixed-shift schedule, with days off assigned by the company and changes made with at least five business days' notice.
