Assistant Director of People and Culture

About the role

As an Assistant Director of People and Culture at Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo, you will support the Director in managing all HR functions, fostering a positive work environment for staff.

Key responsibilities

• Act as an objective third party for employee counseling, problem‑solving and conflict resolution, and communicate legal matters to the Director.
• Analyze turnover patterns and implement strategies to improve retention.
• Oversee the People and Culture budget, including labor and salary reports, and organize cost‑effective staff events.
• Conduct regular audits of insurance records, vacation and sick accruals to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain detailed employment files in both physical form and the Workday HR system.
• Update HR and payroll systems, enforce work rules, and manage the EmPact system as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Two to four years of experience in a similar HR role, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• General understanding of labor laws and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR systems such as Workday and AbhrilSoft.
• Experience using payroll management tools.
