ACM Consultant (S) - Disability & Leave Services

About the role

The ACM Consultant works with the Disability & Leave Services team to build a professional services program delivering leave of absence, disability and accommodation services to Amazon employees, applicants, job seekers and candidates worldwide. This is an individual contribution role with no direct reports, and the consultant acts as the single point of contact for an employee throughout a leave of absence or disability event.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and respond to inquiries about accommodation events, benefits and options available to employees
• Serve as a point of contact for assigned employees, providing holistic case management and reviewing medical documentation in line with federal and state laws and Amazon policy
• Use duration guidelines, best practice tools and Amazon resources to oversee accommodations
• Assess and adjust the case management plan to changing employee needs, and address sensitive situations
• Troubleshoot issues and remove barriers before, during or after a leave event, and educate managers and business partners on employee concerns
• Keep employees and stakeholders informed through regular verbal and written updates
• Maintain system records and comply with work standards, federal and state regulations and company policy
• Coordinate with the third-party administrator, HR, Safety, Legal, Payroll, Benefits and other departments

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field
• Experience in human resources management, claim management or leave and disability management roles
• Fluent speaking, writing and reading in English
• Experience in a client- or customer-service-oriented professional role

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with HR software, applicant tracking systems (ATS) or employee management platforms
• Ability to manage confidential information professionally
• Problem-solving skills and experience in multicultural or bilingual environments
• Knowledge of labor laws or HR best practices is a plus
