Accountant – Vacation Rental Experience Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented accountant to support clients in the vacation‑rental, real‑estate and hospitality sectors. You will work remotely with a collaborative team, delivering high‑quality financial reporting and operational insights.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting for multiple clients, including AP/AR, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Prepare, review and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, address discrepancies and support audit requests.
• Perform job costing, project accounting and budget‑to‑actual analysis.
• Assist with tax compliance by preparing documentation and coordinating with external tax advisors.
• Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams, offering insights to improve financial operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements and internal‑control enhancements.

Required profile

• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and U.S. GAAP.
• Fluent English (B2+) and comfortable communicating with high‑profile clients.
• Adaptable, detail‑oriented and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Available 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday‑Friday, and able to work as an independent contractor.
