Real Estate Accountant with QuickBooks Experience

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, proactive accountant to join our fast‑growing back‑office team. You will work alongside experienced bookkeepers and administrators, delivering high‑quality reporting, reconciliations, and accounting support for our real‑estate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting for multiple clients, including accounts payable/receivable, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, and month‑end close (real‑estate experience required).
• Prepare, review and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and relevant regulations, addressing discrepancies proactively.
• Perform job costing, project accounting and budget‑to‑actual analysis as needed.
• Support tax compliance by preparing documentation, collaborating with external tax advisors and assisting audit requests.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams, providing insights to improve financial operations.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• 3+ years of accounting experience (real‑estate experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and U.S. GAAP.
• Fluent English (B2+) and comfortable communicating with high‑profile clients.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with a growth mindset.
• Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday to Friday, working as an independent contractor.

Required skills

• QuickBooks (QBO) proficiency.
• Advanced Excel skills.
