About the role
Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented accountant with real‑estate experience to join its fast‑growing back‑office team. You will work remotely with a talented group of professionals, delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting multiple high‑growth clients.
Key responsibilities
- Manage full‑cycle accounting for several clients, including AP/AR, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, and month‑end close.
- Prepare, review and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and relevant regulations, addressing discrepancies proactively.
- Perform job costing, project accounting and budget‑to‑actual analysis as needed.
- Support tax compliance by preparing documentation, coordinating with external tax advisors and assisting audit requests.
- Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams, offering insights to improve financial operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls to enhance accuracy and scalability.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the real‑estate sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and U.S. GAAP.
- Fluent English (B2+), able to communicate with high‑profile clients.
- Adaptable, detail‑oriented and comfortable in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
- Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday‑Friday, working as an independent contractor.
