Accounts Payable Analyst I

About the role

The Accounts Payable Analyst I supports the Accounting and Finance organization by reviewing financial information, resolving accounting issues, and ensuring accurate processing of transactions. This role requires analytical expertise, professional judgment, and strong customer service skills.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex corporate accounts globally in line with Thermo Fisher Scientific policies.
• Provide customer service by researching and resolving disputes and ad‑hoc inquiries.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, escalate issues when needed, and keep leadership informed.
• Validate and process documents, perform analytical reviews across multiple systems, and enter transactions impacting financial statements.
• Investigate fund movements, support contract compliance, and review general ledger and transactional data for discrepancies.
• Analyze accounting activity to identify root causes of issues and contribute to quality‑control reviews.
• Communicate quality concerns, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers via phone, email, or chat.
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and controls.
