Associate Cost Manager

About the role

The Associate Cost Manager ensures the integrity of the standard cost system, supports accurate financial reporting, and provides cost insights that drive operational decisions in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard cost components, including scrap, labor, and machine rates.
• Prepare cost estimates and quotes for new and existing product lines.
• Lead the month‑end close process: develop schedules, post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and deliver timely reports.
• Analyze standard cost variances (material price, usage, labor efficiency) and produce monthly variance summaries.
• Support forecast and budget development, and ensure ERP inventory records align with the general ledger.
• Oversee the annual standard cost update and inventory revaluation, complying with local statutory and currency reporting requirements.
• Supervise, train, and manage the performance of the cost accounting team.
• Partner with operations to identify excess/obsolete inventory, audit cycle counts, and provide ad‑hoc analysis for finance and operations leadership.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or a related industrial role.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to lead accounting teams and manage month‑end close activities.
• Experience preparing financial reports, forecasts, and budgets with a focus on costing and inventory.
