Site Controller

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Site Controller to lead financial and manufacturing accounting for its Electro Physiology operations in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The role reports to the General Manager and partners with site leadership to provide accurate financial information that supports strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial accounting processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, billing, fixed assets, construction in progress, and intercompany transactions.
• Ensure compliance with Costa Rican and U.S. statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements, preparing and filing all required returns and reports.
• Lead cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for the manufacturing site.
• Develop and maintain strong internal control systems and procedures.
• Act as a trusted business partner to the General Manager, providing financial and non‑financial insights to drive operational excellence.
• Build, develop, and lead a high‑performing finance team through goal setting, performance management, and coaching.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial and manufacturing accounting, cost management, and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of local tax laws and international accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
