Test Technician – Product Qualification

About the role

The Test Technician is responsible for first‑line qualification of new products entering high‑volume production. The role focuses on stabilising product software and hardware, applying Lean and PDCA methodologies, and supporting engineering with design‑for‑manufacturability, testability, and reliability deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of test equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Support production flow by following defined product prioritisation strategies.
• Develop and execute visual inspection protocols to detect physical damage or missing components.
• Document product data accurately in multiple databases to facilitate repair processes.
• Test and troubleshoot multi‑layer electronic PCBs at the component level using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Identify failure locations by reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering instructions in an ESD‑safe environment.
• Perform component‑level repairs, including soldering and part replacement, using precision instruments.
• Assist final visual inspection (FVI) by preparing products and validating functional performance.
• Maintain technical proficiency with evolving test methodologies and equipment.

Required profile

• Experience with electronic board testing and debugging.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Familiarity with Lean and PDCA continuous‑improvement approaches.
• Comfort working in an ESD‑controlled environment.
