Technical Engineering Manager – Remote (Colombia/Costa Rica)

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Engineering Manager to lead high‑performing, multidisciplinary engineering teams while staying hands‑on with technical execution. The role combines people leadership, delivery ownership, technical decision‑making and client‑facing collaboration across remote engagements in Colombia and Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on technical leadership: participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and technical decisions.
• Guide teams on modern architecture patterns such as microservices, event‑driven systems and modular monoliths.
• Ensure solutions follow cloud‑native best practices on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Lead and mentor developers, QA engineers, DevOps and other engineering roles; manage performance, feedback, promotions and compensation.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery: scope, schedule, quality, metrics (cycle time, DORA, SLAs/SLOs, velocity) and risk management.
• Act as technical point of contact for U.S. clients, delivering architecture reviews, status updates and supporting proposals.
• Collaborate on forecasting, staffing, utilization and margin to maintain financial health of projects.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on software development or DevOps experience.
• 3+ years in an engineering leadership role managing engineers directly.
• Strong experience with modern architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid knowledge of IaC, test automation, observability and SRE concepts (SLOs, SLAs, incident response).
• Proven ability to work with U.S.‑based clients and excellent English communication (C1/C2).
