Technical Consulting Engineer - Splunk TAC

About the role

Cisco's Splunk Technical Assistance Center (TAC) is looking for a Technical Consulting Engineer to act as a frontline expert for its largest global enterprise customers. The role drives rapid resolution of critical Priority 1 incidents, performs deep-dive root-cause analysis and collaborates with engineering teams to improve product stability, while mentoring peers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and resolve high-priority support cases through complex troubleshooting and rapid, durable technical workarounds.
• Communicate technical progress clearly to global customers and internal leadership throughout the incident resolution lifecycle.
• Reproduce customer-reported defects in controlled lab environments and write detailed bug reports.
• Document findings, diagnostic procedures and solutions in internal knowledge bases.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in an advanced technical support role for complex enterprise software.
• Hands-on administrative and troubleshooting experience with UNIX/Linux (e.g., RHEL, CentOS) and Windows Server.
• Preferred: experience with Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud or Enterprise Security, and industry certifications such as Splunk Certified Admin or Architect.

Required skills

• Python scripting, Bash shell scripting and Regular Expressions (Regex)
• Networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTP/REST APIs
• Preferred: business intelligence, observability or large-scale data analytics background

The working schedule is Wednesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM CST.
