Workday · Heredia
Job description
About the role
Workday's Consulting teams help customers implement its cloud solutions, and this Payroll Functional Consultant role supports customers in deploying and adopting Workday Payroll. You work across the full project lifecycle: understanding customer policies and agreements, designing future-state processes, configuring Workday, running workshops, testing solutions and supporting go-live and stabilization. You collaborate with project managers, other consultants and customer stakeholders, and depending on your level (P3 or P4) own increasingly complex workstreams and solution decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Translate real-world workforce scenarios such as payroll cycles, leave policies, shifts and schedules into compliant Workday solutions.
- Design future-state processes, configure and test Workday solutions, and support go-live and stabilization.
- Own functional workstreams and customer conversations, and contribute to improving Payroll assets, templates and best practices.
Required profile
- P3: typically 3-6 years of professional experience, including at least 2-3 years in consulting or leading system/process implementations in Payroll; hands-on experience configuring and delivering solutions in Workday or a comparable workforce/payroll application; experience owning a functional workstream in a payroll project.
- P4: typically 6+ years of experience, significant time in consulting and leading complex implementations; demonstrated experience as primary functional lead for one or more end-to-end Workday (or equivalent) payroll deployments; experience engaging senior customer stakeholders on design decisions and roadmaps.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
- Flexible work: at least 50% of time per quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects and partners.
Required skills
- Direct experience with Workday Payroll, including country-specific variants.
- Certifications or formal training in Workday Payroll.
- Familiarity with labor law, leave regulations or collective agreements in at least one country.
- Experience in industries with complex workforce patterns (manufacturing, retail, healthcare, hospitality, logistics) and in multi-country payroll/time projects.
- Additional languages beyond English, depending on region and customer base.
