ASIC Design Engineer I

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring an ASIC Design Engineer I, working in a hybrid arrangement with about two days per week in an HPE office. The engineer designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates VLSI components and hardware systems, from architecture and logic design through simulation and physical implementation to prototype and production solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design portions of computer/server architecture and algorithms based on VLSI engineering principles and specifications.
• Design, simulate and test VLSI circuits, ensuring designs meet quality, schedule and cost goals.
• Collaborate with management on design status, project progress and issue resolution.
• Work with other VLSI engineers and internal and outsourced partners on reliable, cost-effective solutions.
• Mentor less experienced staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 0-4 years of experience in VLSI design, verification or implementation.
• Hands-on experience designing VLSI components, integrated circuits, architectures and algorithms.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, mastery of English and the local language.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, VLSI principles, digital logic and computer architecture.
• Programming and scripting, hardware description languages, electronic design automation (EDA) and/or FPGA tools.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
