Staff Accountant

About the role

The Staff Accountant supports the organization’s financial operations by maintaining accurate accounting records, ensuring timely reporting, and complying with company policies and applicable standards. This role focuses on journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close activities for U.S. accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and complete assigned close activities within deadlines.
• Perform bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Respond to general‑ledger and accounting inquiries from internal stakeholders.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and supporting audit requests.
• Provide backup support for accounts payable, billing, and other accounting functions as needed.
• Prepare and file annual 1099 forms accurately and on time.
• Contribute to special projects, process improvements, reporting initiatives, and system enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of accounting or general‑ledger experience.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time‑management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data handling).
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems, preferably Sage Intacct.
