About the role

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will join Oracle Analytics Service Excellence (OASE) to improve reliability, availability, and performance of Oracle Analytics Cloud services. The role focuses on proactive monitoring, incident response, automation, and continuous service improvement.

Key responsibilities

Provide 24x7 operational support in a follow‑the‑sun model, responding to incidents, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving mitigation to completion.
Develop and maintain operational tooling, automation, dashboards, monitoring, runbooks, and knowledge‑base documentation.
Analyze service health, capacity trends, and workload patterns to identify reliability and scaling risks.
Partner with development, support, and product teams to investigate and resolve service failures and improve CI/CD processes.

Required profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
2‑4 years operating large‑scale, customer‑facing cloud services or web applications.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with experience reading and safely modifying existing application code.
Excellent written and verbal communication, able to work independently and in global remote teams.

Required skills

Linux/Unix system administration, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, load balancing).
Programming/scripting: Python, Bash, JavaScript/Node.js, Ansible, Java (plus).
Cloud platforms: OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP.
Container orchestration and cloud‑native technologies: Kubernetes, microservices.
Databases and analytics: Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle Analytics Server, OBIS, BI Publisher, Oracle Database, Autonomous Database, MySQL, SQL Server, NoSQL.
CI/CD and automation tools: Git, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jira, Confluence.
