Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Volfront builds volAI, a conversational AI terminal for professional options traders. The role focuses on developing and maintaining the data‑driven features that power the trading terminal.

Key responsibilities

• Own product features from design through implementation, ensuring high‑speed performance for financial markets.
• Architect robust application logic, create clean API contracts, and build modular components across the stack.
• Write efficient SQL and interact with high‑scale PostgreSQL infrastructure.
• Guarantee application reliability during market‑open periods and handle production alerts and root‑cause analysis.
• Implement comprehensive test suites, error handling, and logging to eliminate silent failures.
• Leverage AI coding assistants strategically while maintaining code quality and security.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with deep PostgreSQL expertise (partitioning, indexing, performance tuning on >100M‑row tables).
• Strong Python development skills, especially for building data loaders.
• Comfortable managing systems on both Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Self‑directed senior professional who can work autonomously in a small, high‑autonomy team.
• Willingness to overlap working hours with US Central Time, especially pre‑market window.
