Senior Software Engineer - Core AI Squad

About the role

Cloudbeds, a remote-first platform powering hotels across 150 countries, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on its Core AI Squad. The role designs, builds and operates customer-facing AI platform capabilities, focusing on production AI systems, agentic workflows, evaluation and observability. It is a product engineering role, not an internal tooling one, and you will work primarily in Python while collaborating across the PHP and Java ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate customer-facing AI platform services and features in Python, integrating with PHP and Java systems as needed
• Build and evolve agentic harnesses, including agent runtimes, workflow orchestration, tool execution, state management, recovery paths and evaluation hooks
• Integrate agents and LLM-powered workflows into production systems with attention to reliability, correctness, latency, scalability and cost
• Evaluate models and providers for specific use cases, and own evaluation, tracing, observability and quality feedback loops
• Write clean, tested and documented code and advocate for engineering best practices and test automation
• Collaborate with product, design, data, security and engineering partners to turn AI product ideas into reliable features
• Contribute as a senior individual contributor through technical leadership, architecture input, pair programming, code reviews and mentorship

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems
• Strong Python proficiency in production environments, including APIs, services, tests and debugging
• Experience building, integrating or evaluating agentic systems, agent harnesses, tool orchestration or LLM-powered workflows
• Comfortable working across a polyglot stack, including PHP and Java services
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization and remote-first, globally distributed teams
• Business-level English fluency, verbal and written; work authorization in the location of the position without visa sponsorship

• Python, PostgreSQL, SQS, gRPC and REST APIs
• Agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangSmith, LangGraph, PydanticAI or CrewAI
• MCP, vector databases, RAG architectures and AI evaluation platforms
• Docker, Kubernetes and AWS
• Unit, integration and end-to-end testing, API-driven design and distributed systems
