Senior Java Application Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Java Application Developer to join Walmart’s Finance Tech team. You will help build and maintain scalable, secure Java‑based solutions that enable financial operations across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy Java applications using Spring Boot and related technologies.
• Collaborate with architects and business analysts to translate functional requirements into technical designs.
• Write clean, maintainable code following SOLID principles and best practices.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and ensure high reliability of production systems.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional Java development experience (Java 8 or newer).
• 3+ years with Spring Boot, message brokers (Kafka, IBM MQ, ActiveMQ), REST APIs and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Proven end‑to‑end SDLC ownership, CI/CD pipeline experience and Agile methodology exposure.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP or AWS) and strong understanding of security, performance and scalability.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
