Senior Financial Analyst – Manufacturing Finance

About the role

Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business in Alajuela is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with operations on budgeting, forecasting, product costing, and financial reporting. The role supports month‑end close, variance analysis, and capital project reviews, helping drive financial performance for heart‑disease treatment technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the annual manufacturing budget and quarterly forecast preparation.
• Develop and maintain standard product costing, verifying routings, bills of materials and component costs.
• Assist with month‑end close activities, accrue expenses, and produce variance analyses.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly manufacturing performance reports, including analysis of yields, scrap, rework and inventory balances.
• Review production order variances and support operational managers with overhead analysis and budget control.
• Evaluate capital expenditure requests, ensure proper accounting treatment, and monitor construction‑in‑progress projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a financial analyst in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and explain variances.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings to operational leaders.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple financial cycles simultaneously.
