Senior DevOps Engineer (Platform Engineer)

About the role

This Platform Engineer role works with agile teams to build, operate, secure and scale solutions on the public cloud. You will provision and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code best practices, support the migration of infrastructure and applications from on-premises data centers to AWS, and build container platforms and CI/CD pipelines with cross-functional teams across a large organization.

Key responsibilities

• Build, deploy and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code best practices with cross-functional teams.
• Migrate infrastructure and applications from on-premises data centers to AWS.
• Build solutions with tools such as Terraform, Ansible and Jenkins.
• Build, test and deploy containers and container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, ECS, Fargate).
• Create and maintain CI/CD jobs and pipelines using Jenkinsfiles and AWS CI/CD tools.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of cloud and on-premises data center technologies across many environments.
• Monitor platform and application health with APM tools such as Dynatrace and CloudWatch.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a very large organization.

Required profile

• Previous experience migrating infrastructure and/or applications from data centers to public cloud.
• General troubleshooting knowledge of security, networking and Linux OS technologies.
• 3+ years of experience with Linux (RHEL, SLES, Amazon Linux) and with Docker containers.
• 3+ years of experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, ECS, Fargate).
• Hands-on experience with AWS Glue (critical).
• 3+ years with Git, shell scripting, Python or similar, and infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with Ansible, Chef or Puppet, Jenkins pipelines, AWS CI/CD tools, and APM tools like Dynatrace or CloudWatch.
