Senior Data & Knowledge Engineer

About the role

Coforge is hiring a Senior Data & Knowledge Engineer to work remotely, with locations listed as Costa Rica, Peru, Colombia and Bolivia. The role centres on building RAG and enterprise search architectures and the data pipelines that feed them.

Key responsibilities

• Design RAG and enterprise search architectures and build ingestion, transformation, enrichment, document extraction, embedding and indexing pipelines using Databricks.
• Build and maintain Azure AI Search, vector search and access-controlled retrieval indexes, ensuring metadata, citations, lineage, data freshness and security-trimmed access.
• Implement Azure Document Intelligence pipelines to extract structured information from PDFs, forms, engineering documents, reports and scanned content.
• Design and maintain knowledge graph models for entities, relationships, metadata, lineage and domain context, optimising retrieval relevance and knowledge quality.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Search Engineering, Analytics Engineering or Knowledge Platform roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• Experience with structured and unstructured enterprise data and document extraction patterns.

Required skills

• Azure Document Intelligence, Azure AI Search, Databricks and SQL.
• Vector search, embeddings, RAG architecture and enterprise information retrieval.
• Knowledge graphs with Neo4j or other graph databases.
• Metadata, lineage, data quality, governance and knowledge management.
• Preferred: advanced hands-on experience with Azure AI Search, Databricks, RAG and vector search, document processing, chunking, embeddings, ranking, metadata and citation design, and Neo4j, RDF, semantic modelling or ontology design. An Azure Data Engineer or Databricks certification is preferred.
