Remote Godot Game Developer ($60/hr)

About the role

A remote contract position for a Godot game developer, working 10 to 40 hours per week. The role covers gameplay systems, scene creation, code review and mentoring, with pay stated as $20-$60 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced gameplay systems, mechanics and features using the Godot engine.
• Collaborate on scene creation, visual scripting and asset integration.
• Provide detailed documentation and regular written feedback on development processes and delivered components.
• Deliver code reviews and mentorship to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges, optimising performance and user experience.
• Take part in iterative development cycles and share insights to improve playability and engagement.

Required profile

• Demonstrated game development experience, in AAA, indie, solo or hobby projects.
• A portfolio or verifiable published work (personal site, itch.io, Steam, GitHub, game jam entries or shipped titles).
• Proven ability to spot and fix gameplay issues through playtesting.
• Strong written communication skills for writing precise task instructions and acceptance criteria.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with at least one major engine (Unity, Godot or Unreal), including editor tools, scene management and debugging.
• Scripting in C#, GDScript, C++ or Blueprints, able to interpret, troubleshoot and enhance gameplay logic.
