Plant Controller

About the role

Confluent Medical Technologies seeks an experienced Plant Controller to lead financial operations for its Alajuela site and potentially other locations. Reporting to the Corporate Director of Finance, the role partners with site leadership to drive profitability, cost control, and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall financial leadership across one or multiple sites, delivering operational and financial results.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end close processes, ensuring accurate revenue, COGS, headcount, and profit estimates.
• Partner with manufacturing and cost accounting to validate material, labor and overhead allocations.
• Develop and enforce internal control policies, reconcile operational performance, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support capital projects, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience and 5 years of people‑leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of Costa Rican regulations, free‑trade‑zone requirements, and experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor, JD Edwards, or SAP.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS (NIIF) accounting standards.
• Proficiency in cost accounting principles and financial controls.
