Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Triz Engineering Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team in San Jose, Costa Rica. The role involves creating and managing detailed mechanical designs for commercial vehicle projects while collaborating with global suppliers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate task scope and define design requirements.
• Prepare and maintain bills of materials and associated 3D assemblies.
• Manage product data throughout the development cycle.
• Create 3D parts and 2D drawings that meet supplier and regulatory standards.
• Liaise with overseas suppliers and customers on design issues.
• Conduct concept and design reviews.
• Operate CAD and PLM software packages.
• Support day‑to‑day customer activities and provide cost‑effective solutions.
• Coordinate with materials, purchasing, analysis, test, manufacturing, and compliance teams to ensure optimal design and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• BEng or BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design engineering experience.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, complex environment.
• Willingness to travel overseas (USA) as needed.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modeling.
• PLM system usage.
• Product data management.
