Manufacturing Planner I

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Manufacturing Planner I to join its Structural Division in Alajuela. You will develop and maintain detailed build plans for existing and new products, ensuring service level and inventory targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Define the manufacturing build plan using ERP signals and inputs from Supply Review and S&OP meetings.
• Communicate the plan to production lines and monitor volume and mix execution.
• Collaborate with Industrial Engineering on capacity assessments and integrate results into S&OP.
• Share production quantities with the Supply Planner and address service‑level issues.
• Notify Purchasing of plan changes in a timely manner.
• Prevent, communicate, and prioritize back‑order situations.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels for ZSMI and finished goods, managing excess, obsolete, and expiring stock monthly.
• Provide shift administration support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or at least 75% completed) in engineering or related field.
• 0‑3 years of experience in production planning, capacity modeling, line scheduling, or materials planning.
• Ability to identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Intermediate command of English.
