Incident Management Engineer – Incident Detection & Response

About the role

The AWS Incident Detection and Response team, part of the ASPIRE organization, provides proactive incident management for Enterprise Support customers. As an Incident Management Engineer you will lead communication, emergency response, and technical coordination during high‑impact events for critical workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Drive resolution of large‑scale, customer‑impacting incidents and escalations, collaborating with engineering teams.
• Lead incident response calls, engage internal and external participants, and manage communications across relevant channels.
• Monitor 24x7 workloads, detect critical alarms, and initiate customer call bridges within five minutes.
• Develop, review, and improve runbooks, response plans, and standard operating procedures.
• Identify recurring platform issues, own improvement projects, and mentor peers in technical and operational areas.

Required profile

• Strong background in incident management and customer ownership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a follow‑the‑sun model, including weekends and public holidays.
