Head of People

About the role

The Head of People will serve as the primary people partner for a fast‑growing, fully remote coaching and consulting business. Reporting to the COO, you will design and own end‑to‑end people processes, ensuring the team stays supported, aligned, and engaged as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the hiring pipeline, screen high‑volume applications, coordinate interviews, and lead salary negotiations.
• Oversee full‑cycle onboarding, contract preparation, and compliance for employees and contractors across the US and internationally.
• Lead leadership and professional development programs for coaches and consultants.
• Conduct capacity planning, forecast hiring needs, and align budgets before opening roles.
• Design and execute performance management frameworks, set KPIs, and run regular reviews.
• Mediate conflicts, provide coaching support, and act as a trusted resource for workplace challenges.
• Identify gaps in people processes and proactively implement new initiatives.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in HR or People Operations, preferably in a US‑based startup.
• Strong verbal and written English (C1 level).
• Hands‑on experience with compensation negotiation and full‑cycle onboarding.
• Deep knowledge of employee vs. contractor classification, multi‑state and international hiring.

Required skills

• Experience with Gusto payroll platform.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with Asana and Airtable.
• Ability to use AI tools for building presentations and streamlining processes.
