Employee Lifecycle Team Lead

About the role

The Employee Lifecycle Team Lead will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of a team of Employee Lifecycle and Pre‑Payroll Analysts within Huntsman's HR Shared Services organization in San Jose, Costa Rica. Reporting to the Head of HRSSC Americas, the role blends team leadership with hands‑on operational responsibilities to ensure accurate employee lifecycle transactions and pre‑payroll activities that directly affect payroll outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of Employee Lifecycle and Pre‑Payroll analysts, ensuring service level agreements are met.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management to drive team effectiveness and engagement.
• Act as escalation point for complex employee data, payroll inputs, and system discrepancy issues.
• Ensure accurate processing of new hires, terminations, transfers, compensation changes, and organizational updates in Workday.
• Validate pre‑payroll inputs for timely payroll processing and collaborate with Payroll, HRBP, HRIS, and Benefits teams.
• Manage US and Canada time‑tracking processes and oversee absence management across the Americas.
• Conduct regular audits of employee lifecycle and pre‑payroll transactions to maintain data integrity and compliance.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading HR shared‑services or employee lifecycle teams.
• Hands‑on operational expertise in employee lifecycle and pre‑payroll processes.
• Strong knowledge of payroll requirements for the United States, Canada, and the broader Americas region.
• Ability to manage time‑tracking and absence‑management programs with multi‑state compliance.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to act as an escalation point for high‑impact issues.
