HR Compliance and Operations Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time HR Compliance and Operations Specialist to join our Shared Services team. Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, you will provide operational and compliance support across employee services, onboarding, benefits, immigration, global mobility and international HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support compliance with federal, state, local and international employment laws, monitor legislative changes and update HR policies.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions on HR policies, benefits, payroll, verification, immigration and mobility, managing cases in ServiceNow.
• Coordinate onboarding activities, background checks and I‑9/E‑Verify processes for full‑time, campus, international and project‑based hires.
• Assist international HR operations for offices in Costa Rica and the United Kingdom, including immigration vendor coordination and L‑1 Blanket Visa support.
• Administer benefits enrollments, changes and terminations, reconcile invoices and respond to tiered benefits inquiries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least four years of HR experience with knowledge of US and Costa Rica employment compliance (UK preferred).
• Experience supporting onboarding, employee records, background checks, benefits or HR compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities and a commitment to inclusion and diversity.

• Workday or other HRIS platforms.
• ServiceNow or similar case‑management tools.
• DocuSign for electronic signatures.
