Databricks & PowerApp Developer – Lead I (Data Engineering)

About the role

UST is looking for a senior Databricks & PowerApp Developer to lead data‑engineering initiatives in Costa Rica. You will design, develop and maintain advanced Power BI solutions while architecting the migration to a modern Databricks‑based data lake and Unity Catalog environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain complex Power BI reports, dashboards and data models using advanced DAX.
• Architect and implement the transition from legacy tools (Informatica, Cognos, Dataflows) to Databricks, Data Lake and Unity Catalog.
• Develop, schedule and monitor ETL pipelines, dataflows and data integration processes.
• Manage premium capacity, gateway configurations and performance tuning for Power BI.
• Define KPI monitoring and SLA compliance for data products.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights.
• Maintain modular code bases in Git, apply DevOps practices and oversee Jira task assignments.
• Build Power Automate flows to improve data processing timeliness.
• Coach junior developers, conduct code reviews and guide architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in data analytics, BI development and data engineering.
• Strong leadership skills with experience overseeing development teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
