Data Engineer – AI Agent & Pipeline Specialist

About the role

BiOptimizers is seeking a remote Data Engineer who will blend AI‑native development with robust data‑system design. You will own the end‑to‑end data pipeline, manage AI agents that automate large parts of the build, and continuously improve architecture and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain AI agent workflows using Cursor and Claude Code, including markdown‑based instructions and slash commands.
• Research and evaluate new agent‑orchestration approaches to improve speed, reliability, and scalability.
• Build and maintain a RAW → Base → Data Marts pipeline with dbt Core, handling API ingestion, incremental loads, transformations, and QA.
• Connect to marketing and e‑commerce APIs such as Meta, TikTok, Shopify, and Klaviyo.
• Create comprehensive test suites with Great Expectations and perform manual data inspections.
• Review AI‑generated code, ensuring architectural integrity and quality.

Required profile

• High degree of autonomy and ownership of outcomes.
• Strong analytical mindset; constantly questions processes and anticipates failure modes.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑evolving toolset and remote environment.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• dbt Core for data transformation.
• Great Expectations or equivalent data‑testing framework.
• API integration experience (Meta, TikTok, Shopify, Klaviyo).
• AI agent orchestration using Cursor and Claude Code.
• Markdown and slash‑command workflow design.
