Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer supports Emerson's global procurement function by managing requisitions, purchase orders and supplier interactions throughout the Procure‑to‑Pay cycle. You will ensure data accuracy in the ERP system, monitor deliveries, and help resolve invoice and pricing issues while adhering to Emerson’s ethics and compliance policies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quality control of requisitions and generate purchase orders or amendments as needed.
• Verify single‑source documentation according to standards and Delegation of Authority (DOA).
• Distribute purchase orders for approval and maintain ERP data throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Issue and expedite supplier acknowledgements, monitor shipment status, and coordinate customs clearance.
• Support supplier onboarding, evaluation, and compliance analysis.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing issues, and payment escalations.
• Provide procurement status updates and reporting to project stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as JDE, Oracle (preferred) or SAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
