Buyer II – Procurement & Supply Chain

About the role

The Buyer II is responsible for coordinating scheduling, planning, procurement and expediting activities for specific product lines. This role ensures inventory levels support production, R&D and customer requirements while maintaining cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Support new product development by gathering supplier input, leading negotiations and validating purchase materials.
• Establish and maintain supplier relationships and identify alternative sources.
• Collect, analyze and interpret manufacturing data to influence production and process decisions.
• Identify and implement cost‑saving and cost‑avoidance opportunities.
• Review and process purchase requisitions and orders, applying procurement policies and managing risks.
• Serve as primary contact for requesters, managers and suppliers to resolve order issues.
• Resolve quality, pricing and delivery problems with suppliers.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable and internal teams to address invoice and receiving discrepancies.
• Maintain project timelines and critical tasks despite delays or obstacles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a technical field (preferred).
• 3‑5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably medical device.
• APICS or other industry certifications are a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and lead process‑improvement initiatives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
• Understanding of lean principles and supply‑chain material flow.
• Project‑management and organizational skills.
