Associate Project Manager - Renewables

About the role

Ulteig is seeking an Associate Project Manager for utility-scale solar, wind and/or BESS engineering projects. The role covers the engineering and design scope from initiation through close-out, managing several small single-discipline projects and supporting the project management team on large multi-discipline projects. Candidates must have strong leadership skills and be able to handle complex, multi-functional challenges. Resumes must be submitted in English.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the overall project scope, schedule and cost, and make key project decisions
• Lead a collaborative project team so each discipline meets scope, schedule and cost targets
• Lead project meetings and manage, document and report project life-cycle updates to stakeholders
• Act as point person for contract negotiation and management, and manage project requests for information and action items
• Work with the Project Controls team to keep schedules and costs on track
• Lead projects through internal and external processes, secure resources, assess risks and develop mitigation plans
• Maintain stakeholder relationships, coordinate communication and provide status updates
• Develop, update and manage the project plan, solve problems, set priorities and stay customer-focused
• Provide project management support to leadership on large, complex renewable energy projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of project administration or management experience, preferably in engineering or construction, with power industry experience preferred
• Legal authorization to work in Costa Rica
• PE, PMP, CCM or equivalent certification is a plus; military experience is also considered
