BIM/CADD Technician I - Renewables Substation

About the role

Ulteig is looking for a BIM/CADD Technician I to join its Substation department. The role provides 2D and 3D drafting support to engineers and creates construction drawings and designs for renewable‑energy substations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, designers and technical staff to develop accurate 3D substation models using Revit.
• Ensure models reflect design specifications, stay up‑to‑date and integrate with other project deliverables.
• Produce design and construction drafting work, including plan and section views, construction details, electrical one‑lines, schematics, panel layouts, wiring and communications diagrams.
• Support additional tasks such as special projects, assisting colleagues and new initiatives.

Required profile

• Two‑year technical degree in drafting or current enrollment in a related program.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Bilingual English‑Spanish (B2‑C1) proficiency.
• Permanent authorization to work in Costa Rica.
• Knowledge of substation electrical protection, control or physical design is a plus.

Required skills

• Revit (or other 3D modeling software).
• AutoCAD (preferred) and MicroStation (plus).
• Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
• 2D drafting, 3D modeling, electrical one‑lines, schematics, panel layouts, wiring and communications diagrams.
